Thinks Tanks, Neoliberalism and the Privatisation of Education in Brazil

The purpose of this text is to analyse the work in Brazil of the think tanks that are partners of the Atlas Economic Research Foundation's policy network in building neoliberal hegemony and spreading private "solutions" for education. This is a qualitative study based on a literature review, as well as a documentary analysis of the materials published by the think tanks on their official websites. As a result, it was found that the think tanks that are partners in the Atlas Economic Research Foundation's policy network in Brazil have connections with numerous actors and have acted through various strategies, such as producing research, publishing books and articles, producing podcasts and videos, organising training courses for new political actors, periodically promoting events, conferences, seminars, colloquia and forums, creating local political networks, occupying the highest positions within the federal state structure, among others, to spread the ideals of neoliberalism, such as the free market and the minimal state, reducing spending on public policies and privatising state services, including public education.
