Abstract

It is notorious that the spread of fake news is a growing problem. Despite the use of increasingly frequent technological tools, there is a lack of understanding of the processes that lead to the production and dissemination of "fake news". It is up to the school to innovate in teaching strategies that contemplate the acquisition of knowledge of the totality of this context, especially in Proeja, whose public has peculiarities that require the adaptation of didactic approaches. The objective of this work is to verify whether Proeja students are taught to behave in a qualitative way in social networks through the development of the habit of contemplative reading, specifically Cordel literature, as opposed to the usual superficial reading of headlines. The research used data obtained through questionnaires applied to teachers and students, as well as an educational product in the form of a video that addresses the theme of fake news through Cordel literature. The results point out that the identification of fake news is taught in a decontextualized way and that the proposal presented here had great receptivity among the actors involved in the process. We emphasize the importance of strategies to promote contemplative reading through the adaptation of texts to poetic language in an integrative conception of education.
